Welding
The welding shop was located in one of the buildings perched on the roof of the factory, close to the lift shaft that connected it to all of the other four floors of the company.
As no welding of frames was carried out at AMC, other than for the racing bikes (initially by Reynolds and later in the Tool Room), the operations handled by the welders mainly concerned the joining of sheet metal pressings, such as the petrol and oil tank components, silencers, and a variety of other small components.
The primary welding medium was by oxy-acetylene gas.
